Cable tv shows with the Dragging Tattoo

I guess everyone is mad at Homeland for its nonsensical direction and as much as I agree with them I just can't fully commit to the idea that suspension of logic for the sake of filling a plot hole means nothing.

Homeland took some chances this year and to not give the audience what they want without it being self serving of their own indulgences to make the show something it isn't is refreshing. That being said they really took their time with some stuff and rushed others. The drama with the daughter hit and run was more upsetting and inappropriately balanced you'd think it was the sodomy rape scene in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The episode where Ginger Al Qaeda murders the Vice President was more rushed than whatever cohesion element and scenes that were missing from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to make it the movie people rank it an 8 on imdb.

I don't even like anyone on The Walking Dead as much as I like my secondary pick on who i want to win an episode of Chopped. There was less transition between these two paragraphs than The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.... That should be the last of those references. Well not so quick. I hate when an actor or actress goes through a physical transformation and is automatically considered giving a great acting performance. Rooney Mara got nipple rings and a frumpy hair cut and suddenly now she is Deniro in Raging Bull? I won't secede this point. She doesn't emote through out the entire movie. She basically did what Christian Bale did in The Machinist and hope the absence of their reserved self torture shows through the fact they don't look like their Wikipedia photo. I almost feel like Charlize Theron and Robert Deniro unknowingly opened a pandora a box for marginal work to be unendingly praised.

So does anyone find the rotating door of characters in the Walking Dead to start to feel more like an assembly line of zombie testing dummies and less like a cast of characters. Black guy 1 lasted a while. 2.45 seasons before he is eaten. But then there is black guy 2. He overlaps black guy 1 by about 2 episodes. But he eats a shotgun blast to the tits so he is gone. And just when you think the show has gone all New Hampshire they introduce another black guy.

I'm starting to feel like the show just gives you people to kill them. And if that is the case and all we really attach to is the father and son who effectively won't die then what are we watching? It's a recipe for feeding zombies. I guess I'll partake. I guess.

walken dead

Can anyone tell me what is likable about the horrible pirate hoarders the cast of the Walking Dead have become? I didn't really care if they died to begin with and now that they show no sign of being human I'm completely disconnected from everyone on the show.

Games on Games on Games

I've decided to complain again about a cable tv show for being over praised. Now before I do the whole Walking Dead thing I will say this, Game of Thrones is not a poorly written action show that people just enjoy because of the action content and the exclusive elements of gore and sex. I'm not sure its written at all.

I understand it is a novel that tons of teenagers, virgins and socially awkward women have loved for years upon months now, but this show is about as easy to follow as Nightcrawler free running parkour style through midtown Manhattan circa .

Why does a 5 front mega war need more going on in it other than the war? Adding to it is kind of ridiculous right now isn't it? A war in itself can be confusing, especially when all the characters look like Amon Amarth. To take a war of one army spread out in three parts against 3 different sieging families only really referred to as "The Northerners" is really fucking confusion, but add to that a civil war between one of "The Northerners" only distinguished by the slightest of idiosyncrasies and of course, which way the deer is facing on their emblems you can't really get a good look at at any time. A civil war between two deer clans that you by the way have no idea who is right and wrong. They both make claims for the throne, what throne by the way I'm not sure, because they're trying to kill each other and not the guy who has a throne that I actually need to see the person inhabiting killed otherwise I won't be able to fucking live with myself.

Add to that 3 different groups of people have altercations involving 3 different mythical creatures. I admittedly hate the fantasy aspect of the show and the thought of dragons and walking zombie werewolves is enough, but adding an unexplained smoke monster to the ordeal and losing him for the next two episodes with no mention of him in anyway is pretty fucking cruel, even for a show featuring baby wars. Unexplained smoke monsters by the way always the sign of a lazy show that is disgustingly overpraised by fan boys who should just be watching Batman movies crying about their inaccuracies to a comic book the movie is not based on. Which by the way shares a hilarious similarity with this show. If you want the books, read the books. This is different. Also, has anyone explained who impregnated Tori Amos with Venom? And why that whole situation has miraculously disappeared from the show?

God fucking dammit there are pirates, which were made a deal about for about....20 minutes. Then never discussed. A supposed Naval Armada battle against a Kingdom protected by its impenetrable walls(finally a story with a kingdom with impenetrable walls). Dragon lady vs The villain from Harry Potter and Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation's love child who can do the Multiple Man trick. Who stole 3 cat sized dragons who are supposed to be powerful and bring Blondy Naked Lady to her rightful(not explained) spot on the throne. Which gets about 40 seconds a week to unfold.

Not fucking done. Add a separate sub-story involving two different kids, one you don't care about who is crippled and had what could be the worst non-twist in any story line ever. He's dead at the end of one episode, and everyone goes "nah he's probably not dead". And at the end of the next episode is SURPRISE HE'S ALIVE to which EVERYONE watching at home goes "yeah dude we know". Then add someone you actually give a fuck about and have her have the thrilling life of being a waitress/maid/bug eye giver at every situation she is in.

Its like its a silent movie she over does the facial expressions,

look away from the tv you can actually hear her make the faces.

As for how convoluted the show can be. It's like watching Lord of the Rings on an iPad in a movie theater while they play Braveheart while someone next to you is reading you the script to All the Presidents Men and every 15 minutes you have to watch 2 minutes of Finding Nemo with two different fish. Then throw in 4 love triangles and a couple different starting love stories none of which really get going because they have to focus ON THE FUCKING WAR. Then...again, try and read a novel of a man sent away by his family to go live on a wall in the middle of nowhere and just constantly elude to a mythical werewolf that you haven't seen since the first episode as he has run ins with 3 different clans of people who's origins intentions and way of life is never explained, also add in a love story with him that is actually different than the others and somewhat interesting, but you only get about 3 minutes a week to tell his story. Of course because its on hbo you have to add in brief soft core interludes of uncomfortable sex between a hideous looking man and a girl who either looks like Florence and the Machines or a sickly version of the bi girl on House. Some of which featuring incest, So much fucking incest. I guess there was incest back then, but you don't have to feature it every other episode. Its like pointing out that black people were called different terms in a series by having a segment every show called "the spook minute". We get it, stop founding a monument on the fucking thing. I think the series is kind of like the opposite of any other on tv, rather than have a lot happen to a couple characters they have decided to have a little happen to about 60.

That last paragraph was convoluted and confusing. Now imagine 70% of the characters in those movies all look like this.

It's a nice show and I like it fine at times but is there any reason for it to have this much going on at once? People talk about this show like its setting up to be some great thing, the war is taking so long to set up that everyone knows if it doesn't start soon its going to end on a disgusting cliff hanger that will disgust a good core of its audience. Watch the episode counter tick down and you'll start to wonder how many swords can you fucking sharpen in 10 episodes?

the standing around talkng dead again

I question the producers logic on The Walking Dead. Now I'm officially into the show. They did something last night that kind of summed the show up to me.

1) They killed off nobody that matters. I know the little girl is polarizing but honestly who was she? They never spent time on her other than the search. She was virtually carrying no weight when they offed her. It sucked but it was like the X-Men killing off toad. And I understand no show really took out important people but you can't just keep killing extras and expect me to feel anything as a viewer, I'm still decidedly team Shane.

2) Standing around talking with no one really saying anything. Why are they still on this farm? What happened here really? Shane I guess is supposed to be turning to something, but him saying he is going to do stuff and not do it really isn't blowing my mind. Then he kills the barn walkers, and I...agree. Why not do that? That of course brings about Hersh wanting everyone gone....but they don't leave. Even when a character demands the show progress the hangers on still don't. These guys scoff at Darwinsism.

3) New characters introduc...scratch that killed. Unfortunately for the show one of the characters actually brought with him some charisma. And it stuck out because every character on the show has none of it.

It's getting to the point with the show of when they introduce a new character they have a 14 minute life span. I understand you can't kill off everyone but at least have the person around before you do it.

The show still builds fantastic tension, the bar scene was great and full of suspense. Just kind of sucks that the boring guy I don't care about drew first. Just when I thought the show had a permanent addition who was an unwanted lingerer or the perfect addition of a non-walker antagonist. They cap him. Instantly, and what sucks is he was dramatically more interesting than everyone on the farm. You know other than the girl who sucked the asian dude's dick in a general store surrounded by zombies.

Why was the Asian guy there? What purpose did he serve? He could have taken a step out of pacifism by shooting the fat guy, but he really was just decoration. They created the illusion of action by having him be in the background. So basically when they kill him off it will be like "hey he had some camera time in some big scenes" when really all he did was fuck some desperate for cock farmer daughter and be in the background when the 4 real characters did things.

Also let me just go on record as saying this, it really is hard to guess who dies next, which is all I watch the show for. Which isn't really a success. But its something.

Spartacus Blood and Sand.

Spartacus.

What is worse? The acting? The horrendous CGI? Lucy Lawless? Still? One of the senators sounds like he's from Long Island. Accents switch from scene to scene Australian, British, American, someone just sounds like he's trying to talk like Morpheus from the Matrix. A dialog diction coach would cost like 2 grand for 4 weeks of training with the actors, how the fuck did this go? Was the word "fuck" even around then? Would people use it like they do on this show? They use the term "fucking" a lot. That can't be more than 100 years old.

I can't believe this show gets by on awful fake gore and tits. It's a lot of tits but open any website and you'll find tits and you won't have to sit through an hour of hilariously bad acting with it. Ok this girl has an angel tattoo on her shoulder with a fucking halo. What the fuck is this? it's disturbing to think that just about every sex scene in this movie likely would have resulted in a child. Did Romans pull out? I mean this one blatantly looks like this guy blasted in this slave girl. Jesus. Blood and Creampies.

The CGI is used to replace set building. No arena which is ok I guess...that would be expensive to recreate, but it really is scyfy channel quality computer graphics. They couldn't scout a location for this show? Was this just all filmed on set? This show cost 80 grand a season to make and 50k of it was spent on corn syrup and Lucy Lawless. Haha this girl has an eyebrow piercing scar. Who did quality control on this show? I keep waiting for a plane to fly over head or a cell phone to go off.

Lucy Lawless tits really? She just said cock. This show really exists? Didn't the lead actor die? This show had to keep going? This movie is a giant octopus away from being on the scyfy channel. I know I just referenced the Scyfy network, this can't be my last though. That's like 5 "fucking"s already. People are already doing this? Are you guys sure the term "fucking" was around back then? Why am I so hung up on this.....Wait is that the guy from the fucking Mummy?

Jesus. This show has 90s music video quality sets. They add columns to a normal room like it suddenly legitimizes it as a roman empire setting. Holy shit this lady just screamed a guys name and it came out of my surround sound back left speaker. Scared the fucking shit out of me. Who mixed this fucking thing?

Ok I think I recognize this lady from Mortal Kombat Annihilation. Hair gel back then huh? God there is a lot of fruit on this show. Fruit and and togas. If you took away the fruit and togas this show be void of any atmosphere. The ladies clothing is kind of shocking. Every girl either has cleavage or side cleavage who is producing this show Larry Flint? They just showed a reaction shot of a peasant citizen of whatever this city is and they showed all of her cleavage and literally cut off her hairline. What the fuck? This is worse than a George Lucas movie.

Girl on girl now. Which does nothing for me. I watch two girls go at it and I think I bet they're both going to complain any second now. I'm not sure they should even be showing this at 10pm now. It's fucking shocking really. I use fuck less than these guys. Why is Lucy Lawless naked? Why did I think she wouldn't get naked? So much swearing it's like a kid on Xbox live wrote this. Wow. Sex grunts? Really? We can't play music over this? Haha this is softcore I just saw flaccid shadow dick.

This lady has a great English accent. She might even be English. Sucks she is talking to a guy doing a Crocodile Dundee impression. Haha they're praising a villa for its flowing marble tile and it's a laminate floor cover you can get at the Home Depot. Don't draw attention to the floor for its high quality if its cut with a razorblade. The fucking walls are drywall, I'm not even sure they painted them. They just put pillars around to legitimize it but it just looks like an Italian guy's back yard.

Lucy Lawless does look better in red hair. Her eyebrows being black makes it funnier. She actually looks pretty decent. Lucy Lawless has nice tits? Really? Did not see that coming. When you google "Lucy Lawless tits" they have hilarious fake nudes. Remember fake nudes? Black guy slave in the background has a tattoo and a horrendous midsection. Did they cast this role or did they just grab a guy off the street?

Oh good bullet time slow mode, that completely legitimizes this now. This show is about as bad as acting can get they use more fake blood than WCW. I'm actually thinking there isn't enough sand for this to be called blood and sand.

Oh I guess this is the last episode. Thank god.

remember that stupid long winded seasonal breakdown of a cable show?
homeland is going through that exact same arch right now. to the tee actually

Boardwalk EHmpire is the new SoprEHnos.

Can anyone explain to me why anyone watches the 3rd and 4th show before the season finale of any show anymore? the best shows going all have miss episodes and i understand for me to demand constant perfection when i do nothing even close to acceptable is disgusting, but fuck this.

The system is becoming clockwork and I'm starting to think every show is the same. Heres a 10 episode show sample format..
1. Loose eneds from first season and 1st episode back unfortunately for me the cliffhanger from previous season is usually marginalized because the writers have a whole pile of new ideas they think are more important then what they did 18 months ago so its kind of downplayed by new revelations. Eventually the platform for the next 9 episodes is discovered. But not really to any depth other than a general theme, usually this episode contains more of a dramatic turn of events in the characters then anything you'd like to see addressed from the season before ie: questions cliff hangers.

2nd episode = set up for the remainder season this is almost always skip-able, everything of consequence you is either used later in the season or in the first episode to grab you. If this was a trip, this would be the gathering of supplies packing and pumping of gas before the journey. Its the night before you go to the airport.

3-7 Groundwork: this is where you are now and from week to week somethings will happen but don't worry, we know you don't watch a show to see someone get killed in the middle of a season, we're not the wire. various questions will be asked, few answered, those are saved (or just ignored if this the sopranos) 1 of these around 4,5,6 will be complete building block episode and hopefully the writers will include some sort of story arch there otherwise you're just watching a child play with legos for an hour or sometimes god forbid an hour with commercials.

8 Structure: Completely fucking unwatchable. it is 100% the lets reorganize the questions that will be answered in the season finale or the season premier next year, and provide back story and structure that is necessary to do this. i don't hate these episodes, unless it was like tonight's Boardwalk Empire(which i am all but fucking done with). its the infrastructure of a climactic setting, its nice, but no one wants to see people mow the lawn that the world series game 7 is about to be played on. I understand it has to happen, but why not do a little bit more episodes 3-7, some shows can do that like The Wire, but then again some can't like The Sopranos. No one wants to make and bake the fucking bread just eat it.

9 Build up: This is the heavy petting and bj of the series. this really is just the car chase/lead henchmen fight of a movie.

Its usually the best part of the movie/sex too but ignore that, i'm just using it as a poor comparison that i can't be bothered to change right now and really i want an excuse to post a picture of Prince Goro. Who by the way would be fucking raped by Motaro in that fight. Motaro is harder to beat than a korean in StarCraft. Hardest underboss/boss/character ever, at least for me in the 7 fighter games i played and the 4 i can remember.

10. The climax this is what the writers thought of first and everything has been reverse engineered since. Its usually the best part of a show and rarely disappoints (unless its the sopranos). The one thing I hate about this episode is there is some pressure from execs to keep the audience for the next season and sometimes is laden with unneeded questions and cliffhangers, as if the people who run the network are scared people will forget about things and its really upsetting, 1 because it hamstrings writers and 2 it probably is nothing like that and I am just guessing.

at this point i'm so tired of boardwalk that i don't know what to do. i know 6 characters.
1 nucky
2 those 3 other guys that look the same one is a cop one is not a cop and the other who is not a cop.
3 that weird lipped girl that shows her tits who i'd post an obligatory picture of if i could find ONE that is safe for work
4 the other lady that doesn't
5 good looking Al Capone who's presence in the show is completely distracting
6 the various nobodies
8 omar
7 all the other women who get naked

I swear the writers of this show know when its dragging and just throws a pile of tits on screen to distract from the show needing more cohesion down time than the fucking sopranos or if someone tried to do the natural transition movie from Tom Cruise's characters in Cocktail to Minority Report, where cruise gives up being a trick pour bartender in nightclubs in a happy and battle tested relationship with Elizabeth Shue (who is fucking slumming, rich dude's daughter with a future falls in love with a guy who spins bottles?) and decides to become a future crimey detective who uses oracles to determine crimes before they start. which would be a fucking lot. I love the idea of the show, and i and i guess it would be fine if i was 45 and had a wife and kids. but seriously what is going on? When nucky decided to go on the get whiskey trip i rolled my eyes. its like when a sitcom does a road story just to get a refresh of the characters outside of their standard setting, why?

and i know i can't judge the show by this but having the jerky guy from finding forester and henry from the story arch with Jen when he was the on dawson's creek, ps when is his character supposed to come back from football camp? no? write him off? fuck it? fine. I haven't seen someone be so lazy to write a character off like that since...the sopranos.

Soprano's had what Public Enemies had, the perfect setting plot characters and story, and just dog fucked it. The people who loved the show loved it because of the concept of what the show could've been, a mob story, an episodic Godfather crime drama. They hated what it really was, a messy, convoluted, poorly paced soap opera about a man and his psychiatrist and his boring relationship with his family NO ONE cares about. For every great episode there are 4 where nothing anyone remembers anything about.

So in a way HBO got what it wanted, the logical heir to the throne that The Sopranos gave up when it went away, just not where it wanted, its not the most popular and best show on tv, Breaking Bad is. Its just the most frustrating and overrated.
